SUMMARY:
Around 9:30 p.m. on February 21, 2009 the Columbus Ohio Division of Fire took calls for a reported structure fire in the area of 2300 Parsons Avenue. Upon arrival crews had a two story vacant, one block long warehouse well off. A second alarm was transmitted, and additional engines and ladders were called above the second alarm. High winds hampered efforts, and long hose relays were needed. The Columbus Fire Auxiliary assisted crews, along with the Box 15 rehab unit.

About the Columbus Division of Fire Auxiliary

The Columbus Fire Auxiliary was created to assist the full time professional department in time of need such as during a major incident. Auxiliary members attend the same trainings with the full time firefighter. The auxiliary can be special called to the scene of an incident and assist with containment and extinguishment, overhaul and clean up. Auxiliary members also assist with special functions like the annual State Fire Marshall's Open House and the Chief's Conference.
